Republican Women Facts

The Republican Party was the first political party to officially recognize women--at the 1872 Republican National Convention.

Other firsts for Republicans:

  • First woman to address a committee;
  • First woman elected as a delegate to a national convention;
  • First woman elected to U.S. Congress.
  • The first Republican women’s club was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah in the 1870’s.

About the National Republican Women:

National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) is the largest women‘s political organization in the United States. Our 1800 clubs and nearly 100,000 members are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. MFRW members are automatically members of the National Federation of Republican Women.

The official NFRW logo depicts an American eagle perched on a ballot box with a quill pen clasped in his claw, representing the power of the word and the power of the vote.

Every Republican woman should BE a REPUBLICAN WOMAN!
